Move Handling Units

Explanation

This moves handling units directly from the current location to the given inventory location. It is possible to move both available stock and reserved stock. When the handling unit contains reserved stock it is only possible to move within the same site and it not possible to move to transit.

Prerequisites

• The parts should be availabe in handling unit or reserved to ustomer order, project deliverable, material requisition, shop order and DOP order demands.
• To be able to move a reserved or a partially reserved handling unit the Move Reserved control in Site/Extended Site Info/Inventory tab should be set to Not Pick Listed, Not on Printed Pick List or Allowed.

System Effects

• An inventory part is moved the number in the Total Quantity Available column and Total Reserved Qty decreases. Note: Total Reserved Qty decreased if reserved stock is moved only.

Procedure

From Handling Unit In Stock window

1. In the upper part of the window, either populate or query for the part number in question.
2. In the upper part of the window, select the handling unit to be moved.
3. Right-click and then click Move.
4. In the Move Handling Unit dialog box that appears, specify the number of parts to move. You must also define the location to move, destination and  optionally you can type a comment. 
5. Click OK when completed.
