Move Work Tasks between Work Orders
Explanation
This activity is used to move a work task from one
work order to another work order. Work task in a work order structure could be
moved within the structure. Similarly, work task in non-structure work order
could be moved to another non-structure work order.
Prerequisites
- The work task must have been defined.
- If the work task belongs to a work order structure, the work order to which the work task is to be
moved must exist in the same structure.
- The status of both the source and destination work
order and work task cannot be higher than Under Preparation.
- Dependencies cannot exist on the work task.
- Master/Slave connections cannot exist on the work task.
- The source and destination work order cannot be Component Repair Order
originated or a Repair work order.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the work task is moved to
another work order.

Procedure
Using the Work Task, Work Tasks window or Prepare Work Order\Work Tasks tab when the work task is in a non-structure work order:
- Open the Work Task or
Work Tasks window.
- Query (F3) for the desired work order or work task or object
ID.
- Select the
work task you want moved, right-click, and then click Move Work Task.
The Move Work Task dialog box opens.
- In the editable WO No field, use the List
of Values to select the work order to which the work task is to be moved.
- Click OK.
Using the graphical object structure when the work task is in a work order
structure:
- Open the Work Order Structure
window.
- Query (F3) for the desired work order or object
ID.
- In the graphical object structure, select the
work task you want moved, right-click, and then click Move Work Task.
The Move Work Task dialog box opens.
- In the editable WO No field, use the List
of Values to select the work order to which the work task is to be moved.
- Click OK.
Using the Work Order Planning Gantt:
- Open the Work Order Planning Gantt
window and query (F3) for the desired work order or object ID.
- Query (F3) for the desired work order or object ID.
- In the chart, the work task can be moved manually
or by using the Move Work Task dialog box.
- To move a work task manually, select the activity
bar for the work task, and then drag it to the new work order. Save your changes (F12).
- To access the Move Work Task dialog
box, select the activity bar for the work task, right-click, and then click
Move Work Task.
- In the editable WO No field, use the List
of Values to select the work order to which the work task is to be moved.
- Click OK.
