Manage Materials on Work Task Plan
Explanation
Use this activity to manage materials on a work task plan. Material on a work
task can be added in three different ways:
- Copied from a work list in a work task template.
- Copied from project deliverable item, when work task is
created. This happens if the part defined on project deliverable item, also
exist as an inventory part.
- Manually add materials.
Prerequisites
Gross requirement calculation should have been run as described in
Generate Material Plan.
A work task plan should have been created as described in
Create Work Task Plan.
The same material can be added on several work task plans and shipment plans
as longs as the total required quantity isn't exceeded. The total required
quantity is calculated when gross requirement calculation is run. The quantity
for the same material can be balanced between shipment plans and work task
plans, so that it doesn't exceed the total required quantity:
- Modify quantity on a shipment plan in Project Deliverables
Navigator/Planning Items tab and enter a quantity that doesn't
exceed the total required quantity.
- Modify quantity on a work task plan in Work Task
Plan/Materials tab and enter a quantity that doesn't exceed
the total required quantity.
Information about how to manage material on shipment plans are described
here: Create Shipment Plan.
