Copy Deliverables Structure to Asset Design

Explanation

Use this activity to copy a project deliverables and its component structure to Asset Design.

Prerequisites

The following enable a successful copy of project deliverable structure:

A design object structure (function, location, from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or process), is created in Asset Design.

Procedure

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and populate it with values.
  2. Open the General tab.
  3. Select an item to be copied.
  4. Make sure that the item and its parent items are defined with a value for class.
  5. Right-click and then click Copy to Asset Design.
  6. In the sub menu, select between:
  1. In the Copy to Asset Design dialog, select structure to be created in Asset Design (function, location, from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or process).
  2. Also select navigation model if the structure should be created as location, from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or process. Navigation model is described in the activity diagram Create Navigation Model.
  3. Select if the copying operation should be done as a background job or not.
  4. Click OK.
  5. If the copy is done without using a background job, wait until the copy operation releases the window.
  6. If the copy is done by using a background job, follow below procedure to review the status.

Design objects can now be further processed as describe here: Asset Design, Asset Engineering and Asset Information Integration Manager.

Note: Copy might end up in an error message because the entered classes on project deliverable items is not valid, according to class configuration. For example, SYSTEM is not valid as free functional parent for PUMP. Follow the procedure in Setup Class Relations, to add those missing class relations.

  1. If the copy is done by using a background job, open Database Background Job window, to monitor the status.
  2. Populate the Database Background Job window to find the job.
  3. Right-click and then click Show Details.
  4. Review information about the job.
