Copy Deliverables Structure to Asset Design
Explanation
Use this activity to copy a project deliverables and its component structure to Asset Design.
Prerequisites
The following enable a successful copy of project deliverable structure:
- Object property COPY_TO_MAINTANANCE should have been set to
NO, as described here:
Set Object Property for enabling the Copy to Equipment or Copy to Asset Design.
- Project deliverable item should have the approved status, as described
here: Approve Item.
- A value for class should be defined on the item and on its parent items,
as described here:
Enter Class on Project Deliverables.
It will not be possible to copy an item if its parent items is missing a
value for class.
- A class could be added on items when a plant is defined on
project deliverable definition, as described here:
Enter Plant on Project Deliverable Definition.
- Quantity per assembly on items should not be more than 1.
- The above enables a functional
structure to be created in Asset Design, once copied from Project
Deliverables. A navigation model is required, if also other structures
should be created, like: location,
from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or process structures. A navigation model can be
created, as described here:
Create
Navigation Model.
- Structure will be created, if the the entered classes on deliverable
items, follows the defined parent/child class relations in Asset Design.
Class relations, in Asset Design, can bee added like this:
Setup Class
Relations.
System Effects
A design object structure (function, location, from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or

- In the Copy to Asset Design dialog,
select structure to be created in Asset Design (function, location, from/to,
pipe, circuit/loop or process).
- Also select navigation model if the structure should be created as
location, from/to, pipe, circuit/loop or process. Navigation model is

- Select if the copying operation should be done as a background job or
not.
- Click OK.
- If the copy is done without using a background job, wait until the copy
operation releases the window.
- If the copy is done by using a background job, follow below procedure to
review the status.
Design objects can now be further processed as describe here:
Asset Design,
Asset Engineering
and
Asset Information Integration Manager.
Note: Copy might end up in an error message because the entered classes on project
deliverable items is not valid, according to class configuration. For
example, SYSTEM is not valid as free functional parent for PUMP. Follow the procedure in
Setup Class
Relations, to add those missing class relations.
- If the copy is done by using a background job, open Database
Background Job window, to monitor the status.
- Populate the Database Background Job window to find the
job.
- Right-click and then click Show Details.
- Review information about the job.
