Assign Repair Codes to Affected Parts
Explanation
This activity is used to assign repair codes to affected parts whilst
planning the modification.
Repair codes represent the allocations and operations that are needed to
perform the modification during a shop visit. Repair codes can vary from one
affected part to another and also depending on the modification execution type.
To assign repair codes, you first need to specify the required site. This can
be done manually or by using the Fetch Valid Sites menu option. The list
of sites will display all the sites to which the assigned part revision has been
transferred, even sites to which you are not allowed. However, when assigning
repair codes you will only be allowed to work with user-allowed sites. Once the
necessary site is retrieved, you can enter the required combination of affected
part, repair code, and execution type.
Another option when assigning repair codes is to copy information from one
transfer site to another. This is useful when the definition of parts and repair
codes is similar between sites, e.g., part ALS is connected to repair codes R1
and R2 at sites 1 and 2. Instead of setting up data twice on the modification,
you can use the Copy Repair Codes option to copy between sites.
Prerequisites
- The modification must exist in the Preliminary status, and
affected parts must be defined for it.
- Repair codes must be connected to the affected parts in repair basic
data. For more information, refer the online help file
Connect Repair
Code to Repair Part. To copy repair codes between sites, the repair
codes must be connected to the affected parts at both sites.
- The logged-on user must have access to the site at which repair codes
are to be assigned for the modification.
System Effects
- Repair codes are associated with the affected parts of a modification.
- When the modification is transferred to manufacturing, i.e., at
activation, the repair codes will be transferred as well.
