Use this activity to change the state of a structure or routing alternate to Obsolete. A structure or routing alternate in Obsolete state is invisible to the system for allocations, demands, order operations, load, and planning and costing purposes. You cannot modify the structure or routing alternate and its components or operations at this state. The state of the structure or routing alternate can be changed to Buildable. The default alternate can be retired only for structures with Manufacturing, Purchase or Repair structure types that have parts with phase out dates that fall before the current date.
This activity requires that the structure or routing alternate is in the Buildable state.
As a result of this activity, the system changes the state of the structure or routing alternate to Obsolete. If no structure alternates for the part revision are in states Plannable or Buildable, the product status in the Inventory Part/Revisions tab is set to Not In Effect.
