Start Work Assignment
Explanation
This activity is used to change the status of a
work assignment to Work Started.
The work that is to be performed according to the work task can be started.
Prerequisites
Before the status is changed, the following must have been completed:
- A Work Assignment must exist in status Accepted, OnRoute or
Waiting at Location.
- If the work task is set as Allow Multiple Visits selected and
visit chain exists, then preceding visit should be Completed.
System Effects
- The status of the work assignment is
changed to Work Started.
- The Assignment Start date and the Work Start date on the work assignment is updated
with current date.
- If the work assignment is in Accepted status the Assignment Start is updated with current date
- The work task is set to status Work Started if it is in
status Released or lower.
- It is possible to set the work assignment to status Pending
Completion, Completed, Incompleted
or Cancelled.
- A journal entry is created for this event. Journal entries are generated in the
Journal tab found in the Prepare Work Order and
Report In Work Order
windows.
- If the work task is connected to a SLA order line which has a SLA latest
start and responded date is empty, when the status of the work task is set to
Work Started, the Responded Date is updated on SLA order line.
- If the Allow Multiple Visits check box is selected for the work
task, and If the work assignment status is changed from Assigned to
Work Started, then the visit chain is created with multiple work
assignments based on the working schedule or calendar of the assigned
resource. Initial visit status is set as Work Started and follow on
visits status is set as Accepted

Use the following procedure to change the status using the
Work Task,

window.
- Query the work task, or alternatively, query the work order and
then click the Work Tasks
tab and select the relevant work task.
- Click the Work Assignments tab.
- Right-click, point to Status and then click Work Started.
Use the following procedure to change the status using the
Work Assignments window.
- Open the
Work Assignments window.
- Query for the work assignment (F3). (If the assignment no is unknown, a
combination of work order and/or work task no can be used to find the
assignment no.).
- Right-click, point to Status and then click Work Started
.
