Define Cost Codes

Explanation

This activity is used to define Cost Codes. A cost code can be configured to be used as a WIP cost code and also to be allowed to be used as an override cost code.

When the required cost codes have been defined, they can be used when configuring the cost code rules. The cost codes are also used as control type values for Control Type C106 that is used to define how a particular cost code should be posted.

This is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person as per the requirement.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity:

• The company must exist in IFS Financials.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Given information will be displayed in the window. It is possible to change the information but not the cost code.
• Given cost codes can be used when defining cost code rules.
• Cost Codes can be used as control type values when setting up Control Type C106 in Posting Control.

Procedure

To perform this activity, follow these steps:

1. Open the Work Task Cost Code window.
2. Enter the required Cost Code along with the description.
3. Select Use as Override or Use as WIP code if required.
4. Save the information.
