Connect Work Type to Maintenance Event Type

Explanation

This activity is used to connect work types (defined in IFS Maintenance) to maintenance event types (defined in Fleet and Asset Management). This connection is necessary to be able to create complex assembly service contracts for serials in Fleet and Asset Management. This connection enables you to pick a valid work type when you distribute maintenance events to a work order.

Prerequisites

Work types must have been defined. For more information, refer the online help file Create Work Type.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, complex assembly service contracts can be created for the serials in Fleet and Asset Management.

Procedure

1. Open the Maintenance Event Basic Data window and click the Work Types tab.
2. Query (F3) for an existing event type. The table below the field displays the work types connected to the event type.
3. Create a new record (F5).
4. In the Work Type ID field, enter a code for the work type. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
5. If you want to set the work type as the default work type, select the row, right-click and then click Set Default Work Type. The Default Work Type check box will be selected for the record.
6. Save the record (F12).
