In the Gantt Settings two methods of scheduling are available where only one method is allowed to select.

Scheduling with Start Date: Enter a start date to schedule activities to begin on the project’s start date and calculates the project’s finish date based on the last activity to finish. It first executes the as soon as possible and then the just in time to calculate early and finish dates respectively.

Scheduling with Finish Date: Use this method to determine when a project must start so that it finishes on a specific required date entered. In this option Gantt executes just in time method first and then the as soon as possible to calculate the dates.

Note that that the Gantt chart is always drawn using early dates irrespective of the scheduling option used.
Above mentioned scheduling options are applied to all the projects that are loaded in the Project Gantt window regardless of dependencies between activities of different project exist or not.
