Define Line Routing Operation Parameters

Explanation

This activity is used to define the routing operation parameters used to perform the line operation analysis. In addition, the routing revision and alternate selected here is used when shop order requisitions are created from the proposed schedule for this production line.

Prerequisites

• At least one routing alternate valid for this production line must exist for each production line part. The routing should not be lot sized based.
• The standard lot size must have been defined on the inventory part (if applicable).

System Effects

The defined routing operation parameters are stored for each production line part.

Procedure

1. Open the Production Line Management window, right-click and then click Routing Operation Parameters. 
2. In the dialog box, specify the preferred routing alternates to be used for each part for this production line. (Once this is done the first time, the preference will be stored and used thereafter, until you decide to change it). 
3. Enter the lot size.
4. Select a line operation analysis parameter.
5. Select a line load analysis parameter.
6. Select a lot sizing parameter. 
7. Click OK.
