Start Machine Downtime

Explanation

Use this activity to register that the downtime has started on a work center resource. Downtime is used to measure and classify periods during which a work center resource is unavailable due to causes such a tool breakage, worker unavailability, machine breakdown etc.

Procedure

From the Shop Floor Workbench window:

  1. Open the Shop Floor Workbench window and filter for the relevant work center resources.
  2. Click the Start Downtime option.
  3. In the Downtime Cause field, use List of Values to choose an available downtime cause.
  4. In the Work Center field, use the List of Values to select the work center on which the downtime should be registered. You can select from any of the work centers valid for the filter currently entered in the shop floor workbench header section.
  5. In the Resource field, use the List of Values to select the work center resource on which the downtime should be registered.
  6. Optionally, enter a note in the Clocking Note field.
  7. Click OK.

From the Time Clock window:

  1. Click Start Downtime in Time Clock.
  2. Enter the Site to report on.
  3. Optionally, enter the Employee ID or the Team reporting.
  4. Select the Downtime Cause from the list.
  5. Select the Work Center on which the downtime should be registered from the list.
  6. Select the Resource on which the downtime should be registered from the list.
  7. Click OK.

        Note: Depending on the Time Clock configuration, some of these fields may be automatically filled with default data and thereby the fields may be disabled or unavailable for editing.
