Attach Parts to Handling Units for Production Schedule Receipt
Explanation
Use this activity to attach the parts to be received into handling units.
The parts to be received will be automatically matched to a handling unit on the
lowest level in the structure respecting the calculated quantity to attach. If required, you can manually move parts between the handling
units to make sure it reflects how the finished goods have been physically packed.
The icons in the tree structure will indicate the
quantity attached to the handling unit relative to the planned quantity to attach:

to the handling unit and/or the handling units below it. However, the
accumulated quantity attached is less than the accumulated max capacity
for the handling unit. |

The accumulated quantity attached for this handling unit and the
handling units below, is higher than the accumulated max capacity for

Prerequisites
To perform this activity, packing instruction should
have been defined for the production schedule receipt.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- Handling unit(s) will be generated according to
the selected packing instruction(s). Number of handling units on the
lowest level in the packing instruction will be generated considering the
max capacity defined for the part and the quantity to receive.
- Parts to be received will be attached to the
lowest level
handling units starting from the one with the lowest handling unit ID
respecting the max capacity defined for the part and unit of measure.

Procedure
From Production Schedule by Line window:
- Search for the production line from which you want to
pack and receive.
- Right-click and select Production Receipt.
- Press OK and the Attach Parts to
Handling Units for Receipt dialog box will be automatically opened.
Part
records to be received have been automatically distributed to the handling
units respecting their max capacity.
- Review how system has distributed the parts to
be received to the handling units by using the tree structure. If required,
re-arrange the assignments either by using drag-and-drop directly in the
structure, or by using the Move button. The Move Qty to
Handling Unit dialog box will appear.
- Enter the quantity to move in the Qty to Move
field. If the part is catch quantity handled, enter the catch quantity
in the Catch Qty to Move field. Click OK.
- If you want serial shipping container code to be
generated, select the Create SSCC(s) check box.
- If you want labels to be printed, select the Print
Handling Unit Label(s) and/or the Print Handling Unit Contents
Label(S) check boxes.
- Click OK.
From the Production Schedule by Line or Production
Line Management/Current Production Schedule window:
- Search for the part that you want to pack and receive.
- Right-click and select Production Receipt.
- Press OK and the Attach Parts to
Handling Units for Receipt dialog box will be automatically opened.
