Retrieve Parts Available for Reservation

Explanation

Use this activity to identify inventory parts that are available to reserve to a specific order line. This activity is available from the following windows:

This is a quick method to query for part availability. For example, it can be useful in cases when a condition code is specified on the order line, and you want to determine if the same part with a different condition code is available. You can then use that information to make changes in the order lines, if desired.

A query is created to retrieve all part records for the specified part that are available for reservation.

Procedure

To retrieve part records for available parts from the above windows, follow these general instructions:

  1. Open the window and query for the desired order.
  2. Select the appropriate tab, if necessary.
  3. Select the record of interest. (This may be in a table area of the window or tab.)
  4. Right-click, then click Available to Reserve.
  5. The title of the window that opens will be Available to Reserve followed by the type of order (e.g., Customer Order), followed by the order number and part number.
  6. View the desired part availability information, including the condition codes listed on the part lines.
  7. Close the window.
