Create Handling Units according to Packing Instruction | Apply Packing Instructions

Explanation

This activity is used to apply one or several empty packing instructions either in inventory or as a part of the customer order shipment process. It can be applied in the header of the Handling Unit window or to a node of the handling unit structure.

Prerequisites

At least one packing instruction must be defined.

System Effects

One or several empty packing instructions are applied to the handling unit.

Procedure

From Handling Unit window

1. Open the Handling Unit window.
2. Query for an existing handling unit.
3. Click the Structure tab to view the handling unit structure details.
4. Select the specific handling unit that should be the top parent for the added packing instruction.
5. Right-click and then click Apply Packing Instruction(s).
6. On the dialog box that appears, create a new record.
7. Enter a packing instruction or search for it using the List of Values.
8. Modify the quantity if you want to change the default quantity.
9. Click OK to complete.

Note: If you want more rows, repeat steps 5-7 before clicking OK.

From Shipment window

1. Open the Shipment window and search for your shipment.
2. Click the Handling Unit Structure tab.
3. On the left hand side, select the shipment node in the top of the structure.
4. Right-click and then click Apply Packing Instruction(s).
5. On the dialog box that appears, create a new record.
6. Enter a packing instruction or search for it using the List of Values.
7. Modify the quantity if you want to change the default quantity.
8. Click OK to complete.

Note: If you want more rows, repeat steps 5-7 before clicking OK.
