In IFS Applications, the Component Lot Rule is defined at the parent part level. It determines whether lot tracked components of the given part are allowed to be consumed from only one lot/batch or from more than one lot/batch for a given Production Schedule Receipt or for a given Shop Order. The Component Lot Rule only affects manufactured parts which are tracked (lot/batch or serial), it controls all lot tracked components used to produce the part.
When the Component Lot Rule value is set to One Lot Allowed, strict enforcement is enabled to ensure that only one lot/batch is used per lot tracked component for a given Production Receipt or Shop Order. However, when the Component Lot Rule value is set to Many Lots Allowed, the restriction described above is not enforced.
For maximum flexibility, we allow the Component Lot Rule to be changed for a given part under the following conditions:
Note: There is no check against Production Schedule component lot reservations or issues because they can not exist outside of the receipt process.
