Phase Out or Replace Structure Component

Explanation

This activity is used to replace a component part in one selected structure, several selected structures or in all the structures where the component part is included. Depending on what you select in the window such as the rules for the site and the status on the structure, the outcome will be different when a component part is replaced. In some of the scenarios, the component part will be replaced in the existing structures and for other situations a new revision will be created for the parent part.

Note: Depending on the site rule, structure status, time for the phase out and selections in the dialog box, the replacement will either be in existing revisions or new revisions will be created. (Detailed information about the different situations are described in the About documentation).

Prerequisites

This activity requires that the component must be defined in the Inventory Part window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system replaces a component in a selected structure, several selected structures or in all the structures where the component part is included, or creates a new inventory part revision for the structures.
