Inventory Part in Stock Reservations

[About Reservation Management]

[To Handle Inventory]

Usage

Use this window to view information about the parts reserved in stock. The demand objects that can reserve material are: customer orders, purchase orders, shop orders, DOP orders, interim orders, work orders, maintenance orders, projects, material requisitions, and transport tasks.

This is a quick method to find all the demand sources that have material reserved against that part and lot. For example, you will be able to see the customer order and its corresponding lot/batch number for a particular reserved part. It can be useful as information regarding reservations made per part, such as serial number, lot number, location and the demand source, are available. This window also allows you to view the source of a particular part's demand, such as customer orders, purchase orders, shop orders, etc., using the Reservation Details option. If the planner needs to unreserve material, it must be assigned to another demanding object. Removal of reservation is done in the demand source using standard procedures, and not in this window.

You can use the search function to group and sum the information as required.

If a part is serial tracked at receipt and issue, but not serial tracked in inventory, a material reservation will reserve a quantity of the part with no identified serial number(s). The Identify Serials option allows you to identify the reserved serial number(s).

You can also navigate to the top level handling unit of the stock record.
