Usage

Use this window to distribute the arrived parts among the different orders that lack parts or to manually clear unnecessary inventory part shortage records. A shortage occurs when a quantity on hand is not enough to meet the quantity required for a reservation. Material requisitions, shop orders, customer orders, and work orders create reservations. When an arrival entry is done for a part in short supply, a message tells you that there is a need for that part. When using the resolve shortage functionality, ownership, project inventory and condition codes are also considered. The quantity to distribute includes parts with the same ownership, project activity and condition code, where ownership defined as company owned or consignment are handled together.
