Explanation

Use this activity to check the code part requirements for the elimination code. The code part requirement must be "Blocked" for the code part used for the elimination code.

Before the code part requirements can be checked, the following must have been completed:

As a result of this activity, the code part requirements are used when a new account is entered, i.e., no code part value can be entered. The code part is always blocked to prevent manual postings on it. The update routine marks the code part with an elimination code according to the internal elimination structure.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to check the code part requirements:

  1. Open Account Types and find the account types.
  2. For each account type, decide on the value of each code part and other fields. Codes B - J, Process Code, and Vou. Text can have only one of these values: Blocked (the code part is blocked for entry), Mandatory (the code part must be filled in), or Can (the code part can be filled in). If a code part is blocked for use in Define Code String, the code part requirements for this code part can only be blocked.
  3. Save the information. A dialog box is displayed with the following question: "Do you want to update code part requirements for all existing accounts according to your changes?" Click either Yes or No.
