Enter Posting Control Information
Explanation
Use this activity to specify the accounts and other code parts used when
automatically posting events created in various IFS Applications components. This
task is required and must be
performed by a system administrator or the equivalent.
You can change the default posting types, control types, and allowed
combination control types before putting the system online.

Topics in IFS Applications.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- The code string must be defined.
- The accounts and the code part values must be entered.
- The control type values, such as the supplier groups or tax codes, must be
entered.
- User-defined combination control type must be defined for the posting
type.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- Transactions are created according to the posting
control information in the various components in IFS Applications.
- If you defined combination control types, posting can be defined based on
combinations of two existing control types.
- Another
control type level can be defined for posting rules if the Posting Control
Details Specification or the Posting Control Combination Details Specification
is used.

Procedure
- Query for the posting
type for the installed component.
- To add a new posting type, create a new record.
- In the Posting Type field, select the posting type from the List of Values.
- In the Code Part Name field, select the code part to which the posting
control applies. Use the List of Values.
- In the Control Type field, select a control type associated with the
posting type using the List of Values.
- If required, use the List of Values to define a
code part value in Default
Value No Details field.
- If required, use the List of Values to define a
code part value in Default
Value No Control Type Values field.
- To define control type values for the posting type, select a row in which a system-defined control type is used, and
then right click to select Details.
The
Posting Control Details window appears. Specify the code part value
to
be posted for each value of the control type, and then save your changes.
- To define posting types for combination control types, right-click a
row in which a user-defined control type is used, and then click Details.
The
Posting Control Combination Details window opens. Specify
values for the two combined control types, and then save your changes.
- Save your changes.
To define the Posting Control Details Specification:
- Query for the posting line for which you want to assign
the details specification.
- Select the
row, right-click and then click Details. The
Posting
Control Details window opens. Specify the control
type value without defining the code part value. Use the List of Values to
enter the specification control type.
- If required, use the List of Values to define an account in the Specification Default
Value No Details field.
- If required, use the List of Values to define an account in the Specification Default
Value No Control Type Values field.
- Save the information.
- Select the row, right-click and then click Details Specification. The
Posting Control Details Specification window opens.
- Specify the code part value
to
be posted for each value of the control type.
- Save the information.
To define the Posting Control Combination Details Specification:
- Query for the posting line for which you want to assign
the details specification.
- Select
the row, right-click and then click Details. The
Posting
Control Details window opens. Specify the control type value
without defining the code part value. Use the List of Values to enter the
specification control type. The control type must be a combination control
type.
- If required, use the List of Values to define an account in the
Specification Default
Value No Details field.
- If required, use the List of Values to define an account for
Specification Default
Value No Control Type Values field.
- Save the information.
- Select the row, right-click and then click Details Specification. The
Posting Control Combination
Details Specification window opens.
- Specify the code part value
to
be posted for each value of the combination control types.
- Save the information.
Note: The above mentioned procedures can also be performed
in the Posting Control Navigator window.
