Define Material
Explanation
This activity is used to add materials that are required to perform the work contained by the execution item template. It considers adding all possible material alternatives required by the execution item template.
Prerequisites
- An execution item template must exist.
- Parts must be defined in Part window.
- A
work lists must be defined on the Compatible Unit Template Navigator/Work
Lists tab prior to defining the materials for the execution item
template.
- If the materials are to be connected to a job, the jobs must be defined on
the Compatible Unit
Template Navigator/Jobs tab prior to defining the materials for the
execution item template.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a material line will be created for the execution item template
with or without the connection to a work list.

Procedure
- Open the Compatible Unit Template Navigator window.
- Search for an existing record.
- Select the appropriate execution item template in the navigator.
- Click the Work Lists/Materials tab.
- Select an existing work list line and enter a new record and enter a value
in the Part No and Planned Quantity fields.
- Select the check box Handle only as a Purchase Part, if the required
material need to be considered as a purchase part.
- Enter a Job ID if a task template is connected. Use the List of
Values to select a suitable value.
- Save the information.
