Once a work task is created you can further prepare it by planning resource requirements for it. Resources can be of type Person or Tool/Equipment. The resources can either be internally sourced or rented.
In order to define resource requirements, resource groups and resources should be set up in Resource Navigator window.
The internally sourced resource requirements can be set up in the Work
Task/ Resources/ Demands tab. It is possible to define a resource demand
by specifying the Resource Group only or by specifying the Resource
Group and Resource ID.
Planned cost information will be inherited to the demand line from the resource group specified.
Further more it is possible to include additional qualifications that might be
required by the resource.
If IFS/Service Management is used, it is possible to define a sales part with the
price for the demand. This sales price will be used as default when reporting
time for the resources used and then can be invoiced to the
customer.
The tool/equipment to be sourced through rental are listed in Work Task/ Resources/ Rental tab. The Rental Supply Option, Part no, Planned Rental Duration and other rental parameters can be defined in this tab. Once the rental parameters are defined, planned cost for the tool/equipment demand gets updated with the planned rental cost for the duration specified. If the tool/equipment is rented in from an external supplier, a purchase requisition gets created automatically. The purchase requisition will be converted to a purchase order at a later stage. For Internal Charging, a rental material order gets created.
External resources such as supervisory or consultancy work (i.e., purchase a service from outside) can be defined through purchase requisition with the required information. The purchase requisition will be converted to a purchase order at a later stage.
Resource allocations for a work task is defined as Work Assignments. The work assignments can be defined manually through the right mouse button option on the work task or the resource demand. On the other hand resource allocation can be performed through scheduling engines. This will automatically create work assignments for the work task.
If the work order is PM-generated, then the entire planning information is copied from the PM action to the work order. It will crate a corresponding work task for each work list connected on the PM action. On the same note, if a work task template is connected to the work order (through jobs and templates) the resource requirements entered in the work task template will be copied to the work order as work tasks. Manually entered work tasks can also be organized based on jobs.
