Define Object Availability
Explanation
This activity is used to define the availability
of equipment objects. The availability can be defined for various
combinations of work type and priority. When a work task is created for an
equipment object, the availability will get fetched to the Work order/ Scheduling/
Activity Details tab. The availability will be selected according to the
work type and priority defined on work task.
The logic works as follows:
- If a work task has been created for a serial object, then retrieve the
availability from the serial object. If not available on serial object ,
retrieve the availability from parent serial object or parent functional object.
- If a work task has been created for a functional object, then retrieve
the availability from the functional object.
Prerequisites
- Work Type and priority must have been defined in the Work Order
and PM Basic Data window.
- Calendar must have been defined in the Work Time Calendar/
Calendar window.

Procedure
- Open the Functional Object or Serial Object window and click the
Scheduling tab.
- Click the Object Availability tab.
- Create a new record (F5).
- In the Work Type field, enter the work type for which the
availability is valid. Use the List of Values to select a valid value. If
this field is kept blank it indicates that the availability line is valid
for any value of work type defined in work task.
- In the Priority field, enter the priority for which the
availability calendar is valid. Use the List of Values to select a valid
value. If this field is kept blank it indicates that the
availability line is valid for any value of priority defined in work task.
- In the Calendar ID field, enter the calendar that defines the
availability of the object. Use the List of Values to select
a valid value.
- For the Start Based field, use the drop down to select a valid
value. It determines whether the work has to be completed within the
availability window or whether it only needs to be started within the
availability window.
- For the Location Override field, use the drop down to select
a valid value. It determines whether the availability of the work task
should override the availability of the location.
- Save the information (F12).
The following right-mouse options are available when a single record is selected
in the overview table:
-
Set Availability to Structure copies
the availability information for the selected object to all underlying objects in
the functional and serial structure.
-
Availability Details allows to define
equipment object availability exceptions.
