Define Master/Slave for Work Order

Explanation

This activity is used to sort the duplicate work tasks within a work order into master and slave work tasks. When this is done, one of the work tasks will be set as the master work task and the others as slaves. Slaves are work tasks that will be finished or signed off automatically as part of the completion of the master work task. Slave work tasks will not consume any time, material or resources themselves.

Duplicates can be set manually or automatically on the work order. When the Set WO Master/Slave option is used, the system will navigate through the selected work order, and for each occurrence of a duplicate tasks set the first occurrence as master and set the others as slaves.

In the graphical object structure, independent work tasks are indicated by the sign. Master work tasks are indicated by the sign.

For work orders that are generated from Fleet & Asset Management (connection type = VIM), duplicate work tasks may appear as a result of the same task card or subtask being included on several events on the maintenance order. Work tasks that have the same part number, serial number, task card ID, task card revision, and work task source can be set as duplicate work tasks for work orders from Fleet & Asset Management.
