Usage

Use this tab to view modification-specific information on the selected maintenance event. If the modification to be completed is not the terminating action, you need to specify the new execution type in this tab. The following options are available when specifying the new execution type for the modification:

• Continue to execute the initial inspections. Initial inspections are normally used to determine if the continued inspections or terminating action of a modification is required or not.
• Proceed to the next step for continued inspections. Continued inspections are normally used when the initial inspection reveals conditions that require more frequent or less frequent inspections.
• Continue to execute the continued inspections.
• Terminate inspections by proceeding to Terminating Action. Note that terminating action refers to the actual modification of the serial or serial structure.

The Terminate Inspection check box can be selected if you want to terminate inspections of a modification. Terminating inspections implies that no further initial or continued inspections will be carried out for the particular serial, and the modification will not be complied with.

A modification event can lead to a part identity change on a serial assigned to and/or affected by the modification. When the modification event (with execution type Terminating Action) is embodied, the assigned/affected serial is renamed automatically to the new part number and revision defined on the modification. In the Rename Serials area you can view or modify information on the serials in the structure that are to be renamed. For instance, you can modify the maintenance program, maintenance group, and manufacturer information defined on the serials listed. You can choose to update the operational log history, replacement history, as well as other history records with the new part number/serial number by selecting the relevant check box. Note: Information about the maintenance program, maintenance group, and history data being updated when the serial is renamed can be viewed in the serial identification history.

Note: In order to perform Asynchronous Reporting, operational log history records and replacement history records for the serial being renamed must be updated with the new part number and revision.

In the Rename Serials area, a menu option Perform Rename exists to perform a rename of a serial directly from the maintenance order. For the menu option to be enabled, the modification event must be in status Started or higher. In addition, a menu option Undo Rename exists to reverse the rename of the serial.
