Usage

Use this tab to view a gantt chart of the execution logic structure (ELS) for the maintenance order.

In the chart you will find a summary bar for the maintenance order and for each grouping node in the ELS. The summary bar for the maintenance order is shown in Black, while the summary bar for each grouping node in the structure is shown in Gray. All summary bars in the chart will have an inverted triangle at each end of the bar. You can expand or collapse the contents of the entire maintenance order or for a certain grouping node by right-clicking on the relevant summary bar, and then clicking Expand Group or Collapse Group.

Each execution logic order (ELO) node and task card in the ELS is shown as a horizontal activity bar in the Gantt. The length of each activity bar varies depending on the length of time between the ELO/task card planned start and finish dates. The color of the activity bar for a node or task card will change automatically when the status of the node or task card is changed. The applicable colors are listed in the gantt properties, which is available as a menu option. This allows you to easily view the work progress on the ELS and is useful when you want to follow up on the progress of a maintenance visit.

If the activity bars for task cards are not shown, right-click on the chart, and then click Show Task Cards. The ELO number or the Task Card ID/Subtask ID is displayed to the left of each activity bar for ELOs and task cards in the structure. The ELO number is also shown to the left of each summary bar in the chart. You can view descriptions of the ELOs and task cards by right-clicking on the gantt, and then clicking Show Descriptions.    

You can magnify or reduce the timescale by dragging the timescale bar. You can change the resolution of the gantt, i.e., the scale (whether information should, for instance, be displayed daily or weekly), and the time range the gantt should accommodate by double-clicking the timescale bar and entering required information in the dialog box that opens. The resolution can also be changed using the relevant right mouse button option available on the gantt. Other menu options for zooming and accessing Pointer or Dependency modes are also available.

Following is a list of changes that can be performed for ELOs and task cards in the structure by using the Gantt chart:

• Dependencies can be created between the task cards of a particular ELO in the structure. Note that to create or remove dependencies, you need to have the Create Dependencies Mode activated.
• Dependencies can be created between different ELOs in the structure.
• Existing dependencies can be viewed by right-clicking on the gantt, and then clicking Show Dependencies.
• Dependencies between task cards or ELOs can be removed from the structure.
• A task card can be moved from one ELO to another within the structure. To do this, right-click on the task card that is to be moved, and then click Move Task Card.
• Once sequencing of the ELS is done, the ELOs and task cards can be placed correctly in time by right-clicking on the gantt, and then clicking Plan Execution Logic Structure.
• The required start and finish dates on the maintenance order can be changed by right-clicking , and then clicking Replan Maintenance Order.
