Enter Tax Codes Per Tax Book

Explanation

Use this activity to specify the tax codes for a restricted tax book. (A restricted tax book is restricted to using specific tax codes, rather than using all tax codes.) When specifying the tax codes, remember that each tax code can be specified only once for each tax direction. For example, a tax code could be used in a maximum of three tax books. It could be used in one tax book with a Received direction, one tax book with a Disbursed direction, and one tax book with a DisbursedReceived direction.

Prerequisites

Any tax codes that will be specified in the tax book(s) first must be entered in Tax Codes. The tax books for which you will specify tax codes must be set to Restricted.

System Effects

The tax codes specified in the tax books will appear on reports for that tax book.

Procedure

1. Open the Tax Books window.
2. Select the row for the tax book for which to specify tax codes. Right-click and click Tax Codes per Tax Book. The Tax Codes per Tax Book window will open.
3. Create a new record in the table, and use the List of Values to select the tax codes to connect to the tax book. 
4. Save the information.
