BDR for Tax Template

Description of process

This process involves customizing tax templates to meet specific user needs. Since it is not possible to do any modification to system-defined tax templates, user-defined tax templates must be created in order to create customized tax templates.

A user-defined tax template can be created by copying an existing tax template and saving it in the system with a different tax template ID. All the information in the new tax template will be the same as that of the original tax template at the time it is created. Once the new tax template is created, there are four types of modifications that enable you to customize the tax template as follows.

  1. Modifying the general information
You can modify the general information relating to a tax template. This involves specifying whether field control or column control is used and the extent to which they are used, specifying the output media, entering the tax direction and such.

  2. Entering basic specific information
Basic specific information of a tax template is information that is specific to that tax template. This includes grouping criteria, sorting orders, allowed correction proposal types, reference templates and the allowed types of date/period ranges.

  3. Entering field control
Field control can be entered for a tax template only if the field control has not been blocked for a tax template at the time general information is entered. This involves entering the fields that should be made available to be selected for tax reports created based on the tax template.

  4. Entering Column Control
Column control can be entered for a tax template only if column control has not been blocked for a tax template at the time general information is entered. This involves entering the columns that should be made available to be selected for tax reports created based on the tax template.

Note: It is not possible to enter both field control and column control for any tax template.

Risks of creating user-defined tax templates

User-defined tax templates are allowed for mainly for the purpose of making small modifications to system-defined tax templates. However, it is important to note that certain combinations of parameter values can result in no outcome, or they can cause unwanted results. Therefore, the result of a user-defined tax template must always be verified very carefully.
