Disconnect Handling Units

Explanation

Use this activity to disconnect handling units from a shipment. There are three different options:

• Disconnect one specific handling unit
• Disconnect all handling units
• Disconnect empty handling units

Prerequisites

• At least one handling unit must be connected to the shipment.
• At least one of those must be empty if the option to disconnect empty handling units is used

System Effects

• The handling unit(s) and its sub levels will be disconnected from the shipment. Either one specific handling unit, all handling units in the shipment or only the empty handling units
• If you a handling unit that is not empty, all the attached quantity will be unattached from the handling unit and its sub levels. When disconnecting one specific handling unit you also have the option to just disconnect the specific handling unit and keep the sub levels with attached parts connected to the shipment.

Procedure

To disconnect one specific handling unit:

1. Open the Shipment window.
2. Query for a specific shipment ID.
3. Click the Handling Unit Structure tab to view the handling unit structure details.
4. Expand the shipment ID by selecting it.
5. Select the specific handling unit you want to disconnect.
6. Right-click on the handling unit and then click Disconnect Handling Unit. If parts are attached to any sub level decide if you want to disconnect the entire structure of just this specific handling unit.

To disconnect all handling units:

1. Open the Shipment window.
2. Query for a specific shipment ID.
3. Click the Handling Unit Structure tab to view the handling unit structure details.
4. Select the node with the shipment ID in the tree structure.
5. Right-click on the handling unit and then click Disconnect All Handling Units.

To disconnect empty handling units:

1. Open the Shipment window.
2. Query for a specific shipment ID.
3. Click the Handling Unit Structure tab to view the handling unit structure details.
4. In the trees structure select the node from where if you want to remove empty handling units, shipment ID or a handling unit.
5. Right-click and then click Disconnect Empty Handling Units. If parts are attached to any sub level decide if you want to disconnect the entire structure of just this specific handling unit.

Note: In the shipment flow, it is possible to disconnect empty handling units for the entire shipment automatically, as an optional event.
