Enter Objects/Locations
Explanation
Use this activity to add objects, object structures and customer locations that the service line is
applicable to.
Prerequisites
- Equipment objects should be defined in IFS/Equipment Administration.
- Geographical objects and category objects should be defined in
IFS/Equipment Administration.
- Service contract-customer should be connected to locations in
IFS/Service Management.
- Locations should be connected to equipment objects in IFS/Equipment Administration.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the scope of the subjected items to the service
line will be defined.

Procedure
- Open the
Service Contract window and
query for a record (F3).
- Click the Services tab and select a
service line.
- Click the Scope tab to enter objects, object structures
and locations that is the service line applicable to.
- Select the connection type you wish to add to the service
line in the Connection Type field.
- Next enter the relevant object or the location identity in Item ID
field based on the connection type. Note: An object identity if the
connection type is EQUIPMENT or CATEGORY, a location identity if the
connection type is LOCATION.
- If the entered object has an object structure,
Has Structure check box is automatically selected. Click
Use Line on Structure if the service line should be applicable to
all child objects.
- Optionally, if the service line should be applicable on child objects to be
connected to the entered object, select >Include Objects added to
Structure.
- Optionally, if the total contract invoicing revenue of the service line
need to be allocated an object, select the specific object and tick Set
Revenue..
- Enter values in the following fields based on the connection type and/or
object identity:
- If Connection Type = CATEGORY, enter the quantity of objects covered by the
service line in the Quantity field and specify the location with
respect to a geographical object, by entering the object identity in
the Geographical Object ID field, if applicable.
- If Connection Type = EQUIPMENT,
specify the location with respect to a geographical object by, entering the
object identity in
the Geographical Object ID field, if applicable.
- Save the information (F12).
