Define Location Code
Explanation
Use this activity to define location codes. Location codes are used to enter
the location for each serial. If a serial is not in a structure, it is required
to connect it to a location code. When removing or replacing a serial from a
structure, it has to be connected to a location code. Location codes are also
used for transportation routes.

Procedure
- Open the
Serial Basic Data window and click the
Location
Code tab.
- Create a new record (F5) or search (F3) for an
existing record.
- In the Location Code field, enter a short code to be used by the
system. Once saved, the field cannot be modified.
- In the Description field, enter or edit the description for the
location code.
- Select the Default Location check box if the location is to be
the default suggested value in your work flows. Note: It is not
allowed to block the default location.
- In the Address field, enter a description of the physical address
of the location.
- Save the record (F12).
