Update Base Prices
Explanation
This activity is used to update base prices for sales
parts. When prices are changed, the base prices must be updated. You
can either update the base prices manually in the
Sales Part Base Prices
window or update several base prices in the Update Base Prices
dialog box. Rental base prices are updated manually in the
Sales Part Rental Base Prices window.
When you update the base price manually, it is possible
to change the baseline price, the percentage offset, the amount offset, the price
break template etc.
When you
update several base prices, the base price is changed by
updating the baseline prices, the percentage offsets and
the amount offsets.
There are three methods for updating the baseline prices:
- No update of baseline prices.
- Update baseline prices with
the price from costing for the current cost set. The
baseline prices with the Origin from Costing check box selected will be updated.
Note that rental base prices cannot be updated with
prices from costing.
- Update current baseline prices
by the entered percentage. Note that if the selection of the update includes base prices with
the Origin from Costing check box selected,
this check box will be cleared by this action.
There are four methods for updating
the percentage offset and the amount offset:
- No update of offsets.
- Add a value to current offsets.
- Percentage adjustment to
current offsets.
- Replace current offsets with
new offsets.
You can update baseline prices,
percentage offsets and amount offsets for a selection of sales
parts and/or base price sites and/or price groups. You can also select whether the update should be done for base prices based on costing,
manual, or costing and manual.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- Base prices in the Planned or
Active status must have been entered.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- When several base prices are
updated, all baseline prices, percentage offsets,
amount offsets
and base prices with
the Planned or Active status, corresponding
to the selected origin
from costing, sales parts, base price sites, and price groups, are updated
according to the entered conditions.
- When you update single records, they are updated
according to the entered data.
- If the updated base price has
an Active status, it can be used on the sales price lists and customer
agreements. If base price has the Planned status, the status must be
changed to the Active status before the base price can be used on the
sales price lists and customer agreements.
- If the Use Price Incl Tax check box is selected, then the price including tax and baseline price including tax
values are updated. If the check box is cleared, then the price and baseline price
are updated based on the given
offset. Note: If the With Price from Costing check box has
been selected, then the baseline price is updated with the price from costing for the specified
cost set on the base price regardless of the setting on the Use Price
Incl Tax check box.
