Review Base Price Updates
Explanation
Use this activity to review base price updates on part
based sales price list lines. In the review, the
price on the line is either activated or set to
pending. You have the option to activate all planned lines on the
entire sales price list. This is beneficial if you want to filter for specific
lines to review in detail and then activate the rest of the lines.
The attributes to control in the review differs from user to
user. Example of attributes to control in the review are contribution margin, price
breaks, new price compared with previous price etc.
Prerequisites
- Awaiting the review of base price updates must be enabled on the
sales price list.
- At least one part based sales price list line must exist in the Planned
status. The Planned status is received when
doing a base price update. Base price updates are initiated from the Add
New Sales Parts to Sales Price List window and from the Update
Sales Price Lists from Base Price window.
- The user must have access to the owning company of the
price list.
System Effects
If sales price list lines are activated, the
price list lines will be considered when calculating the price on customer orders
and sales quotations. If the sales price list line is set to pending, further
investigation is needed e.g. manually adjust the sales price list line
before activating, change the base price and run another base price update
and review.

Procedure
To review single lines:
- Click the Part Based tab on the Sales Price List
window or the Sales Price List Lines window.
If rental prices are reviewed, clock the Rental Prices tab
instead.
- Search for sales price list lines to be reviewed.
Lines to be reviewed have the Planned status.
- The sales price list lines are reviewed by
analyzing the contribution margin, comparing the new price with the previous price
for the part, etc.
- Right-click on the line and click Activate
or Set to Pending depending on the result of the review.
To activate all planned lines:
- Open the Sales Price List window.
- Right-click and then click Activate All Planned
Lines.
- On the information message that appears, click OK
to activate all planned lines.
