Enter Discount Group
Explanation
Use this activity to create a discount group
that can be connected to a sales part. You can enter several different intervals
and different discount rates for one discount group. This sales part based
discount is a discount based on the order value, order weight, or order volume
(i.e., the actual physical cubic measurements) associated with connected sales
parts. If you use negative discount percentages, you can use this functionality
to create additional charges.
Prerequisites
There are no specific prerequisites.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- A discount group is created and is available throughout the customer order
flow.
- The discount group is accessible from the List
of Values in other windows, e.g.,
Sales Part.
- Discount percentage intervals can be established for different levels of
sales.
- You can have the system calculate discounts for customer orders with sales
parts connected to discount groups by using the right mouse button option,
Calculate Group Discount, in the
Customer Order window.
- The discount percentage for all parts linked to the same discount group
can be changed by changing the values in this tab.

Procedure
- Open the Sales Part Discount Group window and then select
New.
- Using no more than 6 alphanumeric characters, enter the code for the discount group in the
Discount Group field.
- Enter a description
of the discount group in the Description field.
- In the Discount Code field, select whether the discount will be based on order
value,
order weight, or order volume.
- Select a line in the table area and select New.
- In the Basis Min Value column, enter the minimum level of value, weight, or
volume that must be reached on the order to qualify for the discount.
- Enter discount rate (in percent) in the Discount% column.
- If desired, repeat steps 6-8 to create additional levels of discounts.
This will allow you to set up incremental discounts, based on the level of
sales.
- Save the record.
