Spread and Verify Resource Allocation
Explanation
Perform this activity to spread the resources
over time. After the spreading has
been done perform this activity to also verify how the consumption of the
resource by the
activity compares to the total consumption (by
other activities) for the period of the activity.
Prerequisites
- A resource should be assigned to an activity.
System Effects
- The planned hours are spread within the Early Start Date and Latest
Finish Date of the activity.
- The Spread Type column shows method of
spreading.

Procedure
Use the following procedure to verify the allocation:
- Open the Project Navigator/Resource/Resource Planning
tab or the Activity Resources window.
- Select the resource, right click and select the Resource Allocation
menu option to view the graph.
- Select the one of the available tabs depending on the detail level you
want to see the graph.
Use the following procedure to automatically spread a resource
forecast line linear over days:
- Open the Project Navigator/Resource/Resource
Planning
tab or the Activity Resources window.
- Select the resource line, right click and then select the Spread Linear
menu option.
- In the dialog box that opens click Yes.
