Connect/Disconnect Resource Forecast

Explanation

Use this activity to connect a resource forecast to a budget/forecast version.

Prerequisites

• A resource forecast should exist for the project.
• The project doesn't have an active budget using net change budget control

System Effects

• An existing resource forecast is connected to the selected budget/forecast version and the ETC Connected column will be added to the list of project forecast lines.
• If it is a disconnection: The existing resource forecast is disconnected from the selected budget/forecast version. When all connections are disconnected for the selected budget/forecast the ETC Connected column will be removed from the list of project forecast lines.
• When using update, all the values in the ETC Connected column in the project forecast lines will be recalculated for the resource forecast. If posting control changes have been done even the cost elements may be changed.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to disconnect a resource forecast from a selected budget/forecast version:

1. Open the Project Forecast window, query for the project budget/forecast version for which you want to disconnect the resource forecast. 
2. Right click on the window, click the Forecast Connection menu option. The Forecast Connection dialog box will open.
3. Select the Resource Forecast tab
4. Select the required row and click Remove.
5. Click OK.

Use the following procedure to connect a resource forecast to the selected budget/forecast version:

1. Open the Project Forecast window, query for the project budget/forecast version for which you want to connect a resource forecast.
2. Right click on the window, click Forecast Connection. The dialog box opens up.
3. Select the Resource Forecast tab.
4. Press New to enter a new line.
5. In the Resource Forecast Version ID field, use the List button to select an existing set of previously created resource forecasts that you want to connect to the selected budget/forecast version. Alternatively, it is also possible to use Select Batch to select more than one resource forecast.
   Note. It is not possible to connect a resource forecast if the project has an active budget using net change budget control
6. Click OK.

Use the following procedure to update a resource forecast from a selected budget/forecast version:

1. Open the Project Forecast Info window, query for the project budget/forecast version for which you want to update the resource forecast. 
2. Right click on the window, and click Forecast Connection. The dialog box opens up.
3. Select a row and click Update.
4. Click OK.
