Analyze Resource Forecast

Explanation

This activity describes the different features you can use to analyze a resource forecast, depending on the type of analysis you wish to perform. These features are:

With Snapshot Data it is possible to learn about the underlying values and connections of an object.

Resource Forecast Allocation is a graphical overview that shows the load hours over a selected period.

Resource Forecast Summary is a summary per Resource ID which also can be viewed in a Hours graph and Cost graph.

Cost Elements will show you the cost elements assigned to the costs.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to view snapshot details from the Project Resource Forecast window:

  1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for the resource forecast version for which you want to see snapshot data.
  2. Select a row, right-click and click the Snapshot Data menu option.
  3. Observe the detailed resource information for each specific row.
  4. To view more details for a particular row, right-click on that row and click Object Details.


Use the following procedure to view a resource forecast summary graph for all resource forecast lines:

  1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for a resource forecast version for which you want to view the resource forecast summary.
  2. Select the Summary tab.
  3. Optionally, select the graphs you want to display by selecting the Display Hours Graph and/or Display Cost Graph check boxes.

Use the following procedure to view cost elements and the code strings for a resource forecast line:

  1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for a resource forecast version for which you want to view the cost elements.
  2. Select a row, right-click and then click the Cost Elements menu option.
  3. Observe the different cost elements and the code strings that have generated the cost on the resource line.
