Review Components

Explanation

Use this activity to filter a component structure in the tree and in Components tab. The filtering simplifies the review of a component structure. Also use this activity to review items and components in the Project Deliverable Definition window and the Project Deliverable Items window.

Prerequisites

A component structure must have been created.

Procedure

Set a new master item, in Project Deliverables Navigator tree:

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and search for an item.
  2. Expand the tree.
  3. Right-click on a node and then click Populate Node as Master Item.
  4. Notice how the selected node is added in the header, and as a new starting point (root), for the tree.
  5. Right-click on the new root item in the tree, and select option Populate Root as Master Item.
  6. Notice how the actual starting point for the component structure (master item), is toggled back, in both header and in the tree.

Filter to show the upper section of the structure, in Project Deliverables Navigator/Components tab:

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and search for an item.
  2. Expand the tree and select an item.
  3. Open Project Deliverables Navigator/Components tab.
  4. Right-click and then click Structure/Up.
  5. Notice how this shows the selected item in the tree, and all items in the upper structure.
  6. Right-click to unselect the option Structure/Up.
  7. Notice how it inactivates the Structure/Up filtering.

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and search for an item.
  2. Open Project Deliverables Navigator/Components tab.
  3. Right-click and then click Structure/Down.
  4. Notice how it shows the selected item in the tree, and all items in the component structure.
  5. Right-click to unselect the option Structure/Down.
  6. Notice how it inactivates the Structure/Down filtering.

Review items and components in Project Deliverable Definition window:

  1. Open the Project Deliverable Definition window and search for a definition.
  2. Open Items tab.
  3. Notice how it populates all components (items) for the selected project deliverable definition.
  4. Right-click and use options to navigate and review related information.
