Create Structure by Using Item Configuration
Explanation
Use this activity to create a project deliverables structure by using an item configuration.
A deliverable structure can be created from an item configuration in three
different ways:
- During the creation of an item configuration in Create Configuration
window
- When editing an item configuration in Edit Configuration
window.
- After creating or editing an item configuration in Project Deliverables Navigator/General
and Components tab.
All three ways of creating a project deliverable structure are described in below procedures.
Prerequisites
Part with configuration structure and a configure to order setup (CTO setup) must have been created and added as a part
on project deliverable item. The check box Configurable on project
deliverable item indicates that the selected part has a configuration. How to create and maintain a CTO setup is described in
Define CTO
Basics.
System Effects
A project deliverable structure is created and defined with part information.
Operations will be copied from configuration structure to project deliverable
structure.
