Define Multi-Site Planned Part
Explanation
This activity is used to define a planned part as a
multi-site planned part. Multi-site planned parts can be used to improve the
coordination between the activities among the sites in a supply chain. As
distribution orders reduces the overheads of inter-site ordering, multi-site
planned parts use distribution orders to perform order handling between internal
customers and suppliers.
It is possible for a site to supply another site with
the same part. However the relationship between two sites should be in one
direction and not bi-directional.
Prerequisites
- The demand site must be an internal customer and
the supplier site must be an internal supplier.
- The same inventory part needs to be defined in
both the demand site and the supplier site.
- If you need to specify the Manufactured/Acquired
split details for the planned inventory part, you need to specify those in
the Manufactured/Acquired Split area in the
Inventory
Part/Planning Data tab.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The system creates multi-site planned parts.
- In the
Inventory Part/Acquisition
