Manually Reserve from Inventory

Explanation

Use this activity to manually reserve a quantity available in inventory to a DOP order. The quantity for which the DOP order needs to create supply orders is reduced with the quantity reserved from inventory.

If you are not satisfied with any reservations the automatic netting has made, you can manually adjust the reservations using this activity. 

For DOP orders with the DOP header is connected to a project, and where the Create Pegged option is set to Pegged Orders, reservation is allowed only from project inventory. If the Create Pegged option is set to No Pegged Orders, reservation is allowed only from the standard inventory.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that netting is allowed for the DOP order and an inventory quantity is available to reserve.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, parts are reserved to a DOP order from the selected inventory location. The demand on lower level DOP orders will be reduced and automatically adjusted assumed they have no pegged supply order(s).

Manual Reservation from Inventory

Procedure

1. Select the DOP order you want to reserve parts to.
2. Right-click and then click Manual Reservation from Inventory, the Manual Reservation from Inventory window appears.
3. Create a new record in the table.
4. Select the inventory location to net from in the Location No field. Use the List of Values to select from available inventory locations.
5. Enter the quantity to net in the Qty to Res field.
6. Save the record.
