Update Connected PM Actions

Explanation

This activity is used to update work task templates on PM actions when the work task template is changed. To do so right-click on the relevant work task template in the Work Task Templates, Work Task Template windows and click Update Connected PM Actions. The right-mouse-button options will only be available for revision control disabled active work task template revisions.

It is possible to view a summary of the registered PM actions that have connections to updated work task templates from PM Actions for Work Task Templates window.

Prerequisites

• A connection between the work task template revision and the PM action must exist.
• Revision control should be disabled on the updated work task template.
• An active revision must exist in the system.
• The connected PM action must be in the Preliminary or Active status.

System Effects

• If the updated work task template revision is connected to a PM action which is in Preliminary status, this PM action will be updated with the active work task template revision.
• If the updated work task template revision is connected to a PM action which is in Active status (and revision control is ON), a new revision of the PM action will be created with the active work task template revision. This is done automatically unless there are exceptions, e.g., the revision number of the PM action is a non-numeric value, revision control on the Active PM action is disabled, or preliminary PM actions exist. For such PM actions you need to manually create a new revision of the PM action and make the connection to the active work task template.
• Only the changes made to work lists, resources, materials, planning and permits in work task template, will be updated in connected PM actions.
• If the updated work task template revision is connected to a PM action generated through a PM program, this PM Action will not be updated.
