Enter Severity Data

Explanation

This activity is used to define or edit severities. Each defined non conformance in a non conformance report has a severity. Examples of possible severities are low, medium, high, etc.

Procedure

  1. Click the Severity tab in the Non Conformance Report Basic Data window.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. In the Severity ID column, enter a short code for the severity. Entering a value in this field is mandatory and once saved, this value cannot be edited.
  4. In the Description column, enter a description of the severity id.
  5. In the Open CAPA Allowed column, select Ignore, Verify or Restrict. Entering a value in this field is optional.
  6. In the Notes column, enter a note regarding the severity. Entering a value in this field is optional.
  7. Save when complete.
  8. If you don't want this severity ID to be available in the content filter of the NCR chart, unselect the Show in Chart check box.

Note: You can translate the description into different languages using the basic data translation functionality. Select a record, right-click and then click Translation. In the Basic Data Translation window, enter descriptions per language.
