Use this window and its tabs to plan spare parts categorized by families. A family is a set of spare parts that share common characteristics or are planned by the same individual. A family can contain parts from one or more sites. By forecasting demand, spares families can be used to generate gross requirements seen by MRP for manufactured parts that are also sales parts. Use the header portion of the window to create the general families into which you will group the spare parts. You also use this window to perform disaggregation of spares family forecasts for all spares families or for the current family. Additionally, use the header portion of the window to update actual demand or to cleanup past due forecasts for all spares families or for the current spares family. It is necessary to update actual demands before disaggregating spares family forecasts. Note that the update actual demand methods are intended to be run one time only, immediately after the Spares functionality is first installed.
