Compare Manufacturing Structures

[To MFG Standard]

Usage

Use this window to compare structures. The different revisions, termed as the Comparator and Comparatee, are displayed simultaneously in a split window where you can view either the entire structure or just the part that has changed. You cannot add, update, or delete information in this window, and you can compare only one level of the structures at a time. There are four options enabling you to view different aspects of the comparison: All to compare parts of both structures, Equal to compare those parts of both structures that are the same, Difference to compare those parts of both structures that are different, and Tree to compare structures in their entirety. You can close and open levels, but you cannot drag and drop.

This window provides a quick check on significant differences based on the component part/site, quantity per assembly and optionally the line item no (position) without considering other differences such as component scrap, scrap factor or drawing position. Line item no is provided as an option to be considered for the comparison. This is to keep the comparison simple, especially when checking differences between different parent parts. It is still possible to see the multiple lines for the same component when the quantity per assembly is different.

Note: A negative value in the Qty per Assembly column indicates that the part is a by-product in the structure.
