Calculate Cumulative and Unprotected Lead Time
Explanation
This activity is used to calculate a part’s cumulative and unprotected lead times. The cumulative
lead time of a part is the total turnaround time for all parts in the structure.
You can calculate the cumulative lead time for a single part or all parts for
the specified site.
Note: Safety lead time of the parts excluding planning method B, C, O,
T, K, P or H will be included as a component in respective cumulative lead time.
Prerequisites
Part must have been defined with a routing.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The system calculates the cumulative lead time for a part or parts on a
site.
- The system updates the cumulative lead time field in the Inventory
Part/Manufacturing tab.
- The system calculates the unprotected lead time for a part or parts on a
site.
- The system updates the unprotected lead time field in the
Inventory Part/Manufacturing tab.
- The system detects whether the parts exist in a critical path of a
product structure/structures.
- Lead time categories will be assigned to parts with planning method H.

Procedure
From the Cumulative Lead Time Calculation dialog box:
- In the Site field, enter the site for which you want to run the
calculation. Click List to select from the available sites.
- If you want to calculate the cumulative lead time for a specific part,
select the part in the Part No field. Click List to select
from the available parts. If no part is selected, the calculation is done
for all parts in the site.
- Click OK.
To schedule the task as a background job:
- On the Cumulative Lead Time Calculation dialog box, click
Schedule. The
Create New Task Schedule window opens.
- Set the relevant scheduling parameters and Save. You can view the
scheduled tasks in the Scheduled Database Tasks window.
