Maintain Period Unit Calendar
Explanation
Use this activity to maintain the period calendar to be used in the system. A
record must be created for each period in a year for which planning is done. You
can define the forward planning by different period units, which means that you can
have daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly periods defined for the same year.

There are no prerequisites for this activity.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the system creates a period unit calendar for use within
the system.

Procedure
Create Period
- Open the
Planning Period Units window.
- To create a calendar automatically, right-click and then click Create ISO Weeks,
Create Months or Create Quarters, the Create ISO Weeks,
Create Months or Create Quarters dialog
appears.
- In Begin Date field enter the start date for your new
period or periods.
- In End Date field enter the last date for your new
period or periods.
- Press OK.
- You also can create the periods manually by selecting New. The following steps
are valid only if you decide to create the periods manually.
- In the Plan Year column, specify the year to which the period should belong.
- Enter a number for the period in the Plan Year Period No field. You also can provide a
description for the period in the Plan Period Description field.
- In the Plan Period Unit list, select the unit corresponding to the
period.
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 for each period you want to define.
- Save the record.
Remove Period
- Open the
Planning Period Units window.
- To remove one or several periods, right-click and then click
Remove Period, the Remove Period dialog
appears. You can also delete a period by pressing Delete.
- In Period Unit field select the period unit you want to
delete records for.
- In Clear Periods Until field enter the end date you
want to remove periods until.
- Press OK.
