Verify the Calculation Formula for an Operational Parameter

Explanation

This activity is used to test the calculation of an operational parameter formula. To prevent unwanted calculation results during an operational logging, each formula should be tested to at least establish the possibility of zero divide. Another thing that should be tested is the result when negative values are entered into the formula.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, formulas must have been entered for the operational parameter.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a validated formula will be available for use.

Procedure

Follow this procedure to test the calculation of an operational parameter that uses a formula.

1. Open the Configuration Basic Data window and click the Operational Parameter tab.
2. Query (F3) for the operational parameter that has a formula.
3. Right-click and click Test Formula. The Test Formula dialog box opens.
4. Enter the required test value in the Value field.
5. Click OK to verify the result of the formula which appears in the Result field.
6. Click Cancel to close the dialog box.
