Report Tool Usage

Explanation

Use this activity to report the tool instances used when performing a shop order operation.

As a result of this activity, a tool usage history record is created for each reported tool instance.

Procedure

From Shop Floor Workbench window.

  1. Select the operation for which you want to report tool usage and click Report Tool, the Report Tool Usage dialog box will be opened.
  2. To report usage of tools connected to the operation, enter the tool instances used to perform the operation in the Tool Instance field or select one using the List of Values.
  3. To report usage of tools that is not connected to the operation, enter a new row in the table and select the tool ID and tool instance used to perform the operation using the List of Values in the Tool ID and Tool Instance fields. Note that you must select the Show All check box in the List of Values to display tools not connected to the operation. Selecting the Show All check box will also include non calibrated tool instances in the List of Values.
  4. Press OK.

From Shop Floor Workbench/Tools tab.

  1. Select the operation for which you want to report tool usage
  2. Click the Tools tab, right click and then click Report Tool Usage, the Report Tool Usage dialog box will be opened.
  3. To report usage of tools connected to the operation, enter the tool instances used to perform the operation in the Tool Instance field or select one using the List of Values.
  4. To report usage of tools that is not connected to the operation, enter a new row in the table and select the tool ID and tool instance used to perform the operation using the List of Values in the Tool ID and Tool Instance fields. Note that you must select the Show All check box in the List of Values to display tools not connected to the operation. Selecting the Show All check box will also include non calibrated tool instances in the List of Values.
  5. Press OK.

From Report Shop Order Operation and Report Work Center Operation

  1. Select the operation for which you want to report tool usage.
  2. Right click and then click Report Tool Usage, the Report Tool Usage dialog box will be opened.
  3. To report usage of tools connected to the operation, enter the tool instances used to perform the operation in the Tool Instance field or select one using the List of Values.
  4. To report usage of tools that is not connected to the operation, enter a new row in the table and select the tool ID and tool instance used to perform the operation using the List of Values in the Tool ID and Tool Instance fields. Note that you must select the Show All check box in the List of Values to display tools not connected to the operation. Selecting the Show All check box will also include non calibrated tool instances in the List of Values.
  5. Press OK.
